With over eight years of experience in public accounting, including three years at a Big 4 accounting firm, Matt assists with all aspects of income taxation for businesses, individuals, and trusts including:

At Edelstein, Matt provides consulting, accounting, and tax advice to privately-owned businesses, individuals, and trusts. He actively monitors federal and state tax law updates to ensure his clients seize every opportunity minimize their tax liability.

Matt started his career in corporate taxation at a Big 4 firm focusing on corporate compliance, accounting for income taxes, and multi-state taxation. After joining Edelstein in 2018, Matt now provides consulting, accounting, and tax advice to privately-owned businesses, individuals, and trusts. He works closely with his clients to ensure they always receive the highest level of customer service and support. He strives to help his clients however he can, whether it is tax advice, planning, budgeting, or advice on day-to-day operations. He has worked with clients in several different industries including healthcare, retail, construction, investment management, rental real estate, technology, and many more.

  • Completion and analysis of ASC 740 income tax provisions for financial statement presentation
  • Advise on accounting method selection and entity structuring, including corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and others, to minimize tax liabilities
  • Federal and state research and development tax credit analysis for start-up companies
  • Evaluate the potential tax implications of business transactions, including timing of capital purchases and depreciation methods to maximize tax savings
  • Assist with recording real estate purchases and sales, including tax-free 1031 exchanges
  • Accounting and bookkeeping assistance, including QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online consulting
  • Establish internal controls to maximize efficiency and minimize risk
  • Analyze costs to identify and prioritize cost-saving opportunities, allocate resources effectively, and design smart growth strategies
  • Represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other regulatory bodies
  • Advise on sales and use tax compliance
  • Ensure compliance with foreign bank account reporting
