Annually, we host our State of the Firm meeting in which the entire firm comes together to reflect on our past year and look forward to the next.  This year, many aspects of our event looked different.  Last year, our event was entirely virtual, this year, to allow team members to connect in the way they preferred, we held the event with a hybrid platform. Our theme for the event, Making Connections, was driven by the messages from Managing Partner, Scott Kaplowitch and Chief Operating Officer, Michelle Walsh, teams highlighting what making connections means to them, and our committees laying out the ways that team members can connect through their efforts.

The event started with Scott reflecting on the successes and challenges of the last year. He shared the challenges that we face as an industry and expressed his gratitude to our team members for continuing to provide exceptional client services, despite facing these challenges. With team members in 12 states, Scott explained how we have had to connect in new ways. Michelle Walsh then shifted our focus from 2021 to 2022. She went over what issues accounting firms will face in 2022 and to view these challenges as opportunities.

After Michelle explained our strategic initiatives, we went into departmental and committee snap shots. These provided a glimpse into each department and committee’s makeup, their goals for 2022, and explained the ways they are staying connected. Then, it was time for the celebration portion of the event.

We celebrated work anniversaries, announced the promotion of Jesse Gillett, and commemorated the retirements of Bill Mahoney and Tim O’Connor. Team members provided video and text messages that were included in a video reflecting on Bill Mahoney’s 40 years of service. Former Managing Partner, Jerry Jarasitas provided a thoughtful message for Bill. Those who were at the event in person, toasted to Bill and enjoyed a cocktail hour. Edelstein is energized and eager to navigate new ways to stay connected with our team, our clients, and friends of the firm.
