Annual State of the Firm: A new spin on an Edelstein tradition

Annually, we host our State of the Firm meeting in which the entire firm comes together to reflect on our past year and look forward to the next.  This year, we took a different approach by incorporating some outside keynote speakers, leveraging videos to share updates, and working with real-time feedback from our team members to mold pieces of the agenda.

We worked with Building Impact to kick off the day with a firm-wide community service project.  We put together winter essentials kits for homeless children and young adults being served at Bridge Over Troubled Waters.  We were humbled to learn about the amazing work this organization is doing to help youth in Boston.

We then headed over to the beautiful BC Club to start our event, where everyone was greeted by branded balloons and a lively playlist to set the tone. We were thrilled to have keynote speaker Neil Wood open up the day with his message of positivity and collaboration. His address to our firm members left a lasting impression of team work with his “less me, more we” mentality.  We then shared survey results, a new world cloud, unveiled our new mission, vision, and values, celebrated milestone anniversaries, and saw what our committees accomplished this year. We then had the unique opportunity to hear from AGN‘s Global CEO, Malcolm Ward.  Malcolm joined us from the UK to share his insights on the future of our industry and how our AGN network equips us to be prepared for the coming changes.

We wrapped the day up with goal setting for 2020.  Not just stating what we hope to accomplish, but outlining how we intend to be actionable to achieve those goals.

The day drove home the themes of identifying your unique asset to bring to Edelstein each day, getting charged up for 2020, collaboration, and overall communication.
