Spring initiatives included Daffodil Days, where team members purchased bouquets or made donations in support of the American Cancer Society.
Though the Red Sox home opener always takes place during the crunch time of tax season, we show our allegiance on that day by donating to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s Jimmy Fund for the privilege of wearing our Red Sox apparel to work.
In June, members of our team spent the day at one of the Boston Harbor Islands assisting with clean-up to get the island ready for the summer tourist season.

In July, team members raised money by staffing a concession stand at the Eagles concert at Gillette Stadium, and the Community Service Committee was given the responsibility of determining how to distribute the funds, which included a company match. Committee members agreed on supporting the following organizations:
Adopt a Classroom – www.adoptaclassroom.org
Caring Bridge – www.caringbridge.com
Cradles to Crayons – www.cradlestocrayons.org
Good Grief Program – www.goodgriefprogram.org
Temple Beth Am – The temple provided us with the opportunity to staff the concession stand, so of course it’s appropriate to thank them in this way!
Fall initiatives included a care package drive for soldiers serving in Afghanistan. Team members donated various items and gifts to thank them for serving our country.
Team members returned to the Greater Boston Food Bank where they spent the morning sorting 6,152 pounds of food. The Food Bank distributes more than 34 million pounds of food and grocery products to approximately 550 member hunger relief agencies throughout Massachusetts. www.gbfb.org
In November, team members enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with the addition of pies purchased through Pie in the Sky, an annual fundraising activity that benefits Community Servings. Boston's best restaurants, bakeries, caterers and hotels donate thousands of pies that volunteers then sell to family, friends and colleagues. www.pieinthesky.org

In December, several team members participated in the Salvation Army’s “Angel Tree” program by adopting children for the holidays, purchasing new clothing and toys for children in need. www.salvationarmy.org
Ongoing activities include:
· Deposit-bottle recycling to benefit Life Focus Center (www.lifefocuscenter.org);
· Soda can tab recycling to benefit Shriners Hospital (www.shrinershq.org/Hospitals/Boston);
· Shoe, cell phone, eyeglass, and coat donations for various organizations.
